Dear Maryland Tourism Friends,

Welcome to the Maryland Tourism Council website. The Council has long advocated on behalf of Maryland's tourism industry, requesting funding for promotion and advertising from the Maryland General Assembly and the Executive Branch of Government. Today Maryland's tourism industry is healthy, returning hundreds of thousands of dollars to the state and local tax bases.

Maryland is indeed "America in Miniature". From the mountains to the Chesapeake Bay to the Atlantic Ocean, our natural resources are spectacular. Our history predates the Revolutionary War. Our ancestors played a major role in the Civil War and the War of 1812, when the nation's anthem was written at Fort McHenry in Baltimore.

Our cultural resources are rich, and history truly comes alive from St. Mary's city to Annapolis to Baltimore to Western Marylands and all areas in between. Please take time to get to know our incredibly diverse state.

On this website, you will find members of the Maryland Tourism Council represent every aspect of the tourism industry.
